وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏إذا بقي نصف من شعبان فلا تصوموا‏”‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه الترمذي وقال حديث حسن صحيح‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When the last half of Sha’ban remains, then do not fast.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَّا قَضَى الْخَلْقَ كَتَبَ عِنْدَهُ فَوْقَ عَرْشِهِ إِنَّ رَحْمَتِي سَبَقَتْ غَضَبِي ‏

The Prophet ﷺ said, “When Allah completed His creation, He wrote over his Throne: Indeed, My mercy precedes My wrath.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْيَوْمِ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “By Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah and I repent to Him more than seventy times in a day.”

«عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَقِّنُوا مَوْتَاكُمْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ»

رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Sa’id and Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with them) that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Recite in the presence of those who are dying, ‘There is no god but God. ’”

عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ مَا سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شَيْئًا قَطُّ فَقَالَ«لاَ» ‏

Jabir ibn Abdullah mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was never asked for anything and he said: No.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم

« ‏«‏ أَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَة

The Prophet ﷺ‏ mentioned, "I will be the leader of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection."

قال رسول الله ﷺ‏ : ما أنتما بأقْوَى منِّي، ولا أنا بأغْنَى عن الأَجرِ منكما

The Prophet ﷺ‏ said, "The two of you are neither stronger than me, nor am I any less needy of reward."

عن أبي أيوب الأنصاري رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال

«مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ثُمَّ «أتتبعه سِتًّا مِنْ شَوَّالٍ كَانَ كَصِيَامِ الدَّهْ»

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ‏ said:
Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan, then follows it up with six days of fasting in the month of Shawwal, it will be like fasting the entire year.”

عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم:‏»
«لاَ عَقْلَ كَالتَّدْبِيرِ وَلاَ وَرَعَ كَالْكَفِّ وَلاَ حَسَبَ كَحُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ

“There is no intelligence like preparation, no piety like temperance, and no honor like good manners.”

«نِعمَ المالُ الصَّالحُ للرَّجلِ الصَّالحِ»

"Righteous wealth is splendid for a righteous man!"

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ  ﷺ‏ "‏ مَنْ تَشَبَّهَ بِقَوْمٍ فَهُوَ مِنْهُمْ ‏»‏ »

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar:

The Prophet ﷺ said: “He who imitates a people is one of them.”

«عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم«مَنْ صَمَتَ نَجَا ‏‏»

"Whoever remains silent, he is saved."

عَن عبد الله بن عَمْرو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: 
«تُحْفَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ الْمَوْتُ» 

‘Abdullah ibn 'Amr reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

 ‘‘The gift to a believer is death.”

Key Quote:

• To seek or gain honor in a time and place that will certainly perish is to seek honor that will certainly perish - and in reality, that is not a gift.

إِنَّ اللهَ لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ، وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ 

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

“Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearances or your wealth. However, He looks at your hearts and your deeds.”

Overview:

• We previously shared the dua : اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي and spoke about focusing on our inward state and our character which this hadith speaks directly to.

• Our hearts and deeds are what we will be judged by, which speaks to the two conditions necessary for acceptance of anything in court of Allah:

  • Hearts: What is our motivation behind what we’re doing?

  • Deeds: What do we do with what we are blessed with? Are our methods of executing deeds consistent and correctly aligned with the actions of the Prophet (ﷺ)?

«إنّ أُحُداً جَبَلٌ يُحِبُّنا ونُحِبُّه»

"Indeed, Uhud is a mountain that loves us; and we love it!" 

[Muslim]

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,

"Verily patience is to be exercised at the first calamity (at the first shock of the calamity)." [Sahih Bukhari]

«عَنْ ‌أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ «قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إنما الصَّبْرُعنْدَ الصَّدْمَةِ الأُولَى.»

(رواه البخاري)

“Whosoever constrains himself to be patient, Allah will make him patient. No one was ever blessed with anything better and more greater than patience.” [Sahih Bukhari]

«قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ...ومن يَتَصَبّرْ يُصَبِّرْهُ الله، وما أُعطِيَ أحدٌ عطاءً خيراً وَأوسعَ من الصبرِ»

“Patience/endurance is light/brightness." Sahih Muslim 223

(قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ... الصبر ضياء» ( رواه مسلم»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and seeking reward, whatever preceded of his sins will be forgiven.” (Bukhārī & Muslim)

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: من صام رمضان إيمانا واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه. متفق عليه

قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: تسحروا فإن في السحور بركة. متفق عليه
